Staying at the casino/hotel this past weekend. Looking at the reviews of the restaurants on-site we picked Del Mar one late evening. And on the recommendation of a lot of reviews I got the corned beef on rye. It was pretty good! There was just enough meat (it wasn't overflowing, more bunched up in a chunk), and the rye felt fresh. My wife got the French dip which was also very good. We both got potato salad as the side. That was the only negative. Dry, lacking in mayo, somewhat flavorless. But we forgive them for it, the sammiches are the star of the show anyway.

Soooooooo...we enjoy it so much that we went back a second time. I had the same thing because I was impressed the first time around. Tried the cole slaw this time around. Again, not impressed with the side option.

I would definitely go back if it'stay at South Point again.

If the choice is "cake or death," the answer is: "cake, please." (Might be one of Eddie Izzard's best bits... er, awkwardly phrased here, but true.)

Please come to South Point for the cake- this deli has the best. Tiramisu melts in your mouth (with the right balance of coffee and cream); cappucino cake is also divine; the showstopper is the pistachio. Not sure how many pistachio trees they had to cut down to make a slice, but you taste the flavor in every bite. It's cake to die for. Talk amongst yourselves, I'm verklempt.

Although it is budget friendly I would not recommend. "Hot" sandwiches are delivered cold, the cashier is very inattentive and kinda rude.

My family loves the Bagel Cafe. The food is great and the service is wonderful. The problem is that it's a pretty long drive from our corner of town. With that in mind, we were delighted to find that they owned another restaurant in the South Point casino which is less than 15 minutes for us to drive to. What a disappointment it turned out to be. I get that it's hard to duplicate the ambiance when you're essentially in a casino food court but somehow the Carnegie is able to pull it off at the Mirage. The portions were bad and they were super chintzy with pickles and water. I have a pet peeve involving restaurants that give you the tiniest cup possible if you order water and then make it worse by making you bring them the cup to refill for you over and over and over and over again rather than having a tap or something. Are they trying to make me order a soda? I don't always want one of those. Is it worth their time to have to give me 11 refills in my tiny water cup rather than just giving me a normal sized cup? It doesn't matter, I won't be back to this location. It bares zero resemblance to the Bagel Cafe. The meat on my sandwich was very, very dry. I think my wife and daughter just pitched theirs. The only thing that was OK was the Matzo Ball soup and it still wasn't as good as the stuff at the main location.

We had the French dip, corned beef on sourdough, and pastrami on rye.  The meats were very good.  Cut to order with great flavor.  The issue with all 3 sandwiches was the bread.  The bread was very average.  It wasn't substantial enough to hold up to the meat or provide any flavor or texture.  If they used better bread, this place would be awesome.  I'd say the meats compare to Canters Deli.   Canters just has superior bread, sauces, and pickles.  All in all, it was good value and I enjoyed it.
